Frequently Asked Questions
When and where is the wedding?
We can't wait to celebrate with you on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at Cape Fear Vineyard & Winery in Elizabethtown, NC. The ceremony begins promptly at 3:30 pm, followed by cocktails, dinner, and dancing.
What time should I arrive?
The ceremony begins promptly at 3:30 pm sharp. We kindly ask that guests arrive early enough to be seated by 3:15 PM. This ensures everything starts smoothly and helps you avoid an unplanned cameo walking in with the wedding party!
What should I wear?
Dressy but comfortable! Think nice dresses, skirts, blouse and slacks, or jumpsuits for women and button-downs or sport coats with slacks for men. Ties and gowns are optional. We're going for polished but not stuffy. Besides, when do we all ever get to dress up nowadays? Since the ceremony (which we promise will be super quick) will be held outdoors in November, please dress with the temperature in mind. Layers, wraps, or jackets are encouraged. Fashion-forward warmth is the goal, shivering couture is not.
Can I bring a guest?
Your RSVP card will indicate exactly how many seats we've reserved in your honor. If your invitation includes a guest, it will be noted there. We kindly ask that you stick to the number of seats listed so we can plan accordingly.
Are children invited?
We adore your little ones, but our wedding will be mostly an adults-only celebration. To help guests traveling from afar, a small number of children may be included by invitation. If your RSVP card lists seats for your children, then they are welcome. Otherwise, we kindly ask that you enjoy the evening kid-free.
How do I choose my meal?
When you RSVP, please include your main course selection and let us know if you have any dietary restrictions.
Is there parking at the venue?
Yes! Complimentary parking will be available on-site. Please enter the following address on your GPS device: 277 Bourbon St., Elizabethtown, NC 28337. This will lead you to the designated parking lot for our event. Follow the signs to the ceremony and keep an eye out for our ushers, who would be more than happy to help.
Indoors or outdoors?
The ceremony will take place outdoors at the lakefront gazebo (weather permitting). The cocktail hour will be held at the courtyard and the reception will be indoors.
Can I take photos during the ceremony?
We've invested in amazing (and yes, expensive!) photographers and videographers and they've asked that we keep the ceremony unplugged. We'd love for you to be fully present with us. Please tuck away phones and cameras until the reception... then snap away to your heart's content! Don't worry, they'll capture every beautiful (and possibly embarrassing) moment, and we promise to share!
Will there be assigned seating?
Yes. Since dinner will be plated, we'll be using escort cards to guide you to your table. When you arrive at the reception, you'll find a card with your name on it. This is your "ticket" to dinner and will list your assigned table number. This will also help the waitstaff match you to your chosen entree (so your steak doesn't end up in front of the vegetarian). We will try our best to make sure you're near people you know (or at least would probably get along with).
What about alcohol?
Each guest will receive drink tokens that can be exchanged for alcoholic beverages at the bar. If you don't plan on drinking, no worries, we'll have a fishbowl near the bar where you can drop and donate your tokens. We're calling it the "lush fund" and anyone who wants to enjoy a few (or more) extra sips can help themselves to tokens from the bowl. Sharing is caring (especially when cocktails, beer, or wine are involved)!
We just ask that you drink responsibly and please don't drink and drive. We'd like everyone to get home safely after the celebration so if you plan to imbibe, please consider staying at one of the on site cottages so you can safely do so.
If you maintain a sober lifestyle, there will be iced tea and water served tableside or you can go up to a bartender and ask for a soda of your choice.
Where should I stay?
We have reserved a block of cottages on site at Cape Fear Vineyard & Winery. Click on the TRAVEL section on our website menu for more information on how to book. There are also a few other lodging options in the area.
Do you have a registry?
Yes. You can find our wedding registry here:
